4. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
GTSC uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and provide our Services, including to allow you to navigate between pages efficiently, record user settings, and improve user experiences across our Services. We also use cookies in connection with our Services to help recognize user devices and stated user preferences. Below is some general information about cookies, and then more specific information about the types of cookies and other tracking technologies that GTSC may use.

Cookies are then sent back to the originating web domain on your subsequent visits to that domain. Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser, while persistent cookies may remain on your device after the browser is closed (for example to reference your user preferences when you return to the same site). Most web pages contain elements from multiple web domains so when you visit the website, your browser may receive cookies from several sources.
What Types Of Cookies Does GTSC Use?
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential in order to operate our Services and to enable you to move around GTSC’s website and use its features. Without these cookies, certain services you have asked for, such as navigating between pages or accessing your member account page, cannot be provided.
Performance and Analytics Cookies
GTSC may use performance cookies to provide you with certain advanced website functionalities or to provide enhanced and more personal features in connection with providing our Services. This may include storing changes you make on your job applicant page or recognizing the platform from which you access the site. These cookies are not used to track your browsing on other sites.
We also use analytics cookies to analyze how our visitors use our Services and to monitor website performance. This allows us to provide a high quality experience by customizing our offerings and quickly identifying and fixing any issues that arise. For example, we use Google Analytics to set performance cookies on our Services, in order to keep track of applicant activity and to assess which pages are most popular, which method of linking between pages is most effective, and to determine why some pages are receiving error messages.
Browser Controls
You have choices on how we use cookies and similar technologies. Please note that if you disable certain cookies, certain site functionalities and features may no longer be accessible and other Services may not be personalized to you. Below are some ways that you may be able to disable certain cookies or adjust your cookie settings.
You may adjust your browser setting to disable certain cookies by following the instructions for your browser as explained at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies. You may also be able to adjust your cookie settings on your mobile device. Some mobile device operating systems, such as Android and iOS, allow users to opt out of mobile advertising IDs for ads personalization. GTSC is the data controller for the personal information collected in connection with the use of our Services in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. Data controllers determine the purposes and means of processing personal data under GDPR Article 4.
Lawful Basis for Processing Data
We only collect and process personal information where we have one or more lawful grounds to do so. In this section, we identify the legal grounds on which we rely to process personal information under GDPR Article 6.
In some cases, GTSC processes personal information to fulfill our contracts with specific parties, such as to facilitate job applications and registrations. GTSC’s processing of certain personal information may also be necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
In other cases, GTSC has a legitimate interest to process the personal information that we collect, such as to develop, administer and support our products and services; to operate, evaluate and improve our business; to support our recruitment activities; to benefit the public interest; or to comply with export control regulations and other legal obligations. It may be also necessary for GTSC to process personal information to establish, exercise or defend against fraud, illegal activity, and claims and other liabilities, including by enforcing the Terms of Use that govern the Services we provide. GTSC will rely on legitimate interests as a basis for data processing where the processing of personal information is not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
If GTSC relies on consent for the processing of your personal information, we will seek such consent at the time we collect your personal information.
International Transfers
We may transfer your personal information to countries other than the country in which the data was originally collected for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. For example, if you are located outside of the United States, we typically transfer your personal information to the United States, where GTSC is located. We rely on legally-provided mechanisms to lawfully transfer data across borders. In some cases, the countries to which we transfer personal information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. In general, we will process your data in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was originally collected and will make the requisite disclosures where appropriate.
